The Good Life

Our Out & About for the 27th is a winter theatre overview. There are so many great plays and experiences out there this winter to chase away the blues and this next issue will have a listing of all the highlights.

I'm so excited about the movie the Water Horse. The song,"Back Where you Belong" gives me chills every time I hear it. It's just gorgeous and I can see it getting an Oscar nomination.

It's been a crazy week. Deadlines are earlier and it's the holidays!! I'm impressed at the amount of puzzle players who made it in time in spite of the early deadline. Well done! Don't worry if you didn't make it in time, I will get your name in next week.

Also, Diana recaps the new restaurants of 2007. It's been a busy year. Look for her top ten list for the week of January 3rd. See if your favorite makes it to the list.

Well, time to do some last minute shopping!

Well, it happens to the best of us I suppose! I used to make our cryptograms by hand and give them to Breanne to check for me. Breanne got a much needed break from work to have a go at a puzzle and I was assured that my handiwork was accurate. Well, since our Breanne has gone on to other pastures I have been left to use a cryptogram generator to make the puzzles. It's very accurate. Well almost accurate! The darn things don't take apostrophes so if I have an apostrophe in a quote I have to remove it before I use the generator. I guess you can see where I'm going with this! In the fourth to last word in this weeks puzzle the letter A is an apostrophe! Sorry folks!

Special thanks to Thelma L. Clausen of Bristol for kindly calling me and letting me know. And yes, she actually had the mental power to figure it out! Seems Thelma used to be in the word business herself and has an eagle eye and a sharp mind for these things. Thanks Thelma!! I do have the best readers at Out & About!

Well it's Friday!

Well it's Friday afternoon and it's time to wrap up the pieces for next week's Out & About. We've gone for something a little radical this week with a piece on the "Story of Stuff" It's a short film that explains where all this holiday shopping gets us in the long run. I think you will find it informative and eye opening as well as entertaining.
Diana visits Johnny Apples in Holland with the gang and brings us along for the ride.
Movies are looking really good this week. All the best things are being released in time for the holiday crowds. I really want to see "I am Legend." Any movie that takes us into New York City all alone, to do what we like sounds like a great ride to me. Anyone else remember "Escape From New York?" I'm so ready!
Actors’ NET in Morrisville is presenting “The Song Of Bernadette” and I think it's a great idea for the holidays. Read all about the local cast and get a taste of what's in store.
And for my wonderful puzzle players, good news! I've chosen a funny cryptogram quote this week. I hope it makes you laugh hard as I did!

Stay in touch!
